hmm, so for those of you going to college across the country...
how are you planning on moving all your stuff over there? what are you gonna by there and at home? are you supposed to ship everything? im so lost. there's no convenient option where i get to stop by home on the weekend if i need to pick something up.

I'm moving across the country, and I think my parents are planning on buying most of my dorm stuff in the area around my college. I'm of course taking my clothes (and shipping some probably), but lamps and blankets and towels will probably be easier to buy once you get there.
I'm still not quite sure how the whole coming back home for summer thing will work out though. Sometimes I wish I was just going to a school closer to home where my parents could drop off anything I needed at a moment's notice, but just think! We're going to be so independent!

I'm going to University of Miami from NJ. Some people say that the school might have storage over the summer or you could rent a self storage from a private company. I guess we will buy a lot of things near the school, but we don't know if its better to ship stuff through the airline as additional bags when we fly down in August or to ship them through FedEx or something.
