I'm going to San Diego State as a transfer student junior level. Would it be weird if I stay in dorms aka resident halls? Is it just going to be mostly freshman. I'll still be 20 but will turn 21 in Nov. What are the percentage of students that are over 20 that stay in dorms?

BUMP I'm wondering this myself.... I'll (likely) be at UCSB.

at my school im gonna say about 30% of juniors and seniors still live on campus. however, you probably wont have to worry too much about being stuck w/ all freshman. most schools seperate the freshman residence halls from the upperclassmen ones.

It really differs, campus to campus.

Since I goto SDSU I can tell you.
There are no specific dorms for grad levels, like other schools. The dorms are open to everyone. I know of three juniors living in my building, but it is kind of odd.

But hey goto the dorms anyway, your roomates will love you when you turn 21.

But if you do decide to live on campus. I would suggest Villa Alvarado http://www.sa.sdsu.edu/hrlo/villa.html

Its close to campus, although you will likely have to take the bus to school (the red line bus). But these dorms are more like apartments...overpriced apartments, with RAs. But if you wanna live there, better sign up fast.

I'm Int'l student, since I was young, I always live off campus. I enjoy living in Apt or rent a room. You get more freedom. And I have damn a lot of things here. Lots of books, lots of clothes, lots of computers... cars, furnitures... I can't live in dorm... Anyway, if you want more freedom, living off campus is the best choice

Of course living off campus gives you more freedo, but what if your totally new to the area and know no one? Wouldn't on campus housing be the best choice to meet people?
