I'm trying to decide what I want to do about housing, and I'm having a really hard time with it. I have basically two options, here's how it breaks down:
1) Option 1-
-New building (built in 2001)
-Really nice facilities/amenities (Air Conditioning, lounge areas)
-All suites (4 people share a bathroom)
-Option of single or double room
-Residential college (specifically for science/engineering types, but I don't study science)
-Weak social life
-Few kids (140, probably less than half freshman)
-No food service in dorm, but nearby
2) Option 2
-All freshman dorm (280 kids)
-Food service
-Better social life
-More real college experience
-Dangerous street crossing in path to class
-Normal Dorm (lower quality, more share a bathroom
-Only doubles
It's basically a matter of the comfort of the 1st option compared to the "college experience" of the 2nd option. What should I do?

Take the 2nd one- the dorm experience is important, and the "misery" is something to bond over. Besides, sophomore year you will know more people and can move into the new dorm and not have to worry about a social life. I think singles are a bad idea for freshman because it closes you off to others.

I would also pick option 2 if I were you.

id go with the second one because...thats the one im picking!! ::grin:: yay for elder! (at least i assume thats what you're talking about...i hope)
no seriously i wouldnt classify the street to cross as "dangerous" when i was there it seemed bad but not like "im going to get killed bad" but what do i know? and i have herad in suites that people dont come out of their rooms and its harder to meet people. go for the all freshman dorm like me!

yeah, go with number 2. you arent going to college to stay in a hotel room. you're going to par-tay! (oh, and learn a little too, i suppose =))
