Im considering studying Architecture at SUNY Buffalo this Fall, does anyone have any interesting facts about UB? the good and the bad please..

I visited there, and was considering going to their honors program. Definitely not the right school for me. The campus and town were both very ugly, and it seemed large and impersonal (although I am still going to a big school). They have a pretty good academic reputation, especially if you get into their honors program, but I guess it really has to be your type of school. Personally, I would rather go to SUNY Binghamton if my parents made me go to a state school. Oh yeah, Buffalo is a HUGE party school.

Im pretty new to America and so I havent ever been to new york so any information at this point would be great. im not sure what you mean when you say the town was ugly,all i know is that it snows a lot there, but im gonna take your word for it ;)

buffalo is not really that great of a town. it's kind of run down.

Yeah- buffalo has become run down- especially the area near south Capmus of UB. UB is a very large and impersonal school. The dorms are crap. They only keep 1/2 of the hall way lights on at a time and the stair wells are very dimly lit. The dorm complex is about a 1/2 mile from the academic area, but there is a bus to get you around. A lot of the old homes in the area are very nice and you might want to rent an apartment after a while. Also- the academic buildings are very very nice- unlike the dorms.
