I'm a senior in High School and a while back, I was accepted into Boston College EA. I was wondering if it'd be the right college for me, being that I am extremely athiest (to the point of trying to steer people from the evils of religion), hedonist, nihilist, sociopathic and at the same time, argumentative and opionated.

NO!!! It's not right at all. VERY RELIGIOUS AND CONSERVATIVE. Try some nice liberal arts colleges in the same selectivity level- Wesleyan, Bowdoin, Bard, Vassar, you get the idea.

What evils of religion?

By Steve on Sunday, January 26, 2003 - 01:21 pm: Edit

Everyone who used religion and God as an excuse to kill people, who did not have to themselves question what was right and wrong. Also included in this catagory are homophobics.

My brother goes there, and as we are both hardcore Catholics, he says the religious scene is terrible there, even though it's a Catholic school. You shouldn't have any trouble. But don't get into any religious debates with the theology professors, or you will get OWNED!

Oh, and Steve, I'm not trying to get into a debate here, but would just like to mention that: Stalin, Pol Pot, and Hitler hated religion as well.

The fact remains that Boston College is a Roman Catholic/Jesuit affiliated school, and although there is I think something like 30% of a non-Catholic population there, I don't think it would be right for a staunch atheist who would get into arguments everytime someone mentioned their religious beliefs...that goes for somewhere like Georgetown, as well.

You also I believe are required to take some religious classes at BC - at least that was the impression I got when I visited there - I have not yet visited Georgetown.
