I'm a sweed who's about to send off my applications to 3 US colleges, one who recently got named the nr 1 pary school in America, that's not why I'm going there, but it does make me feel more exited about.
Here's the thing, about 3 months before I go to the US I will turn 18-which makes me old enough to drink and enter night clubs legally here, but I'll be heading off to a country where I have to wait 3 more years to be able to party legally, am I really stupid to do this??
From what I understand americans arn't too bad at drinking and partying and doing drugs, but still i's illegal right, so what hapens if I get caught drunk or in possesion on campus, could I get expelled, how big a chance is it?
And also whats up with this grek stuff, is that where all the parties will be? Do I have to be a member to party or can you get invited through a friends friend etc??
Please help me figure this out cause I wanna have fun while in college..
Also are the people living in dorms generally anti-partying ???

If you get caught doing something illegal...especially drugs you would probabably be expelled , drinking well that depends. Most colleges hae some degree of drinking and dope smoking no matter where they are from Harvard to podunk U. Best thing you can do is to not do it to excess and not do not get caught.

ok dont worry at all dude. ppl are HELLA for partying at these schools, except if you go to a homo school like George Washington. The best school for partying is University of Alabama. Lots of hotties, lots of bourbon, you know the drill. Other schools are generally good for parties too, especially large state schools. the parties arent like you europeans do it, but they are solid, you'll enjoy them. dont worry about expulsion, if you are totally wasted they wont kick you out. just dont do any hard drugs ON CAMPUS and you'll be chill fo sho.

So what do you consider the difference between American and European parties??

european = beautiful techno, in style
american = stupid rap and senseless pop, in excess

You guys are all idiots. Drinking and doing drugs only gets you into trouble. Take it from me I KNOW. Your parents will not appreciate paying all that $$ for you to do poorly in school because of your habits.

It's not a habit, it's more of a lifestyle (the difference, being mainly connotations.) Drinking is fun and the greatest people in the world got drunk off their asses in college, so NOT drinking would be considered to be not experiencing the full scope of college life.
