I'm thinking of only applying to Brown...

but i was wondering about the night life, social life, and alcohol.

This page (http://www.brown.edu/Student_Services/Office_of_Student_Life/randr/policies/drugs.html) has scared me into thinking it is really tight there.

In England, its over 18 not 21. How tight are the rules really? People here who aren't 18 go to bars and can buy alcohol...

and no i'm not an alcoholic, but i want my college years to be fun, not just work

Even if you may not get into clubs, there are always frat parties or something that you can go to for drinks/partying.

What school are you at in London. I was at Godolphin and am going to Princeton this year. A v. good friend of mine is going to Brown...she has the same qualms as you about drinking. Supposedly, with a fake ID and an English accent you can get served a drink anywhere in the US.

Well done about getting into Princeton. Are you worried about how far away from home you'll be? Half exciting, half scary.

I think that I am just going to apply for Brown because of the open curriculum - I don't fancy doing French ever ever ever again.

I'm going to do the ACT in October and then visit in late October. I hope i'll like it (and if i do - get in) or all of this will have been a huge waste of time...

The girl going to Brown is called Caroline Gray. She was very arty so you might have seen her paintings around school. I never visited Brown myself, but I pretty much guarentee that you'll love it.

It's a pain that you guys don't have Mr.Mills helping you out with applications; he was a godsend!

Do you have an AOL screename? Email me if you like and I can try to give you any advice. If you want Caroline's email (cos I'm sure she'll be happy to help you out) just drop me a line. I'm leaving to Princeton on THursday and I am three quarters excited, one quarter nervous.
