I have 19 creits to carry (4 classes) for freshman year. What about extra cirrs.? Well I have time for that and how "involved" should I get?

You should have time for some of them. Most likely, there will be some sort of fair for extracurriculars, where you can wander around. Good thing about getting involved is that you will meet people from all grades. Bad thing is, it is easy to get overwhelmed. If you did a sport in high school, consider doing the intramural version: you'll meet people, the world doesn't end if you need to miss a game to study, and it will help you to adjust to college when you're doing something familiar.
