I don't know about the rest of you, but from what I've heard about dorm food...I plan on living off of Pop-Tarts and cereal!!
Mmmm...poptarts.
Heh, love the frosted brown sugar! Oh but hey, there's a new Hot Fudge Sundae flavor. Crazy, huh? You're supposed to freeze em and everything. Seriously, look: www.poptarts.com
Heh heh, frozen poptarts, baby!

Don't forget instant ramen...only like 25 cents a meal, 5 minutes or so to prepare...doesn't get much better then that ;)

Warning, Ramen is extremely high fat, high sodium. At least throw away most of the soup packet when you are making it. I try to limit my children to once a week. It's one thing they know how to cook. I hope my D does not eat too much of that in college. I am going to buy her luna bars. They are supposed to taste good, and much better for you.

Ramen. It's 10 cents a pack where I get them, hehe.

Why cook?
this dissolves in water plus it probably has more nutrients than a case of Ramen.

Haha. I drink that stuff, during the winter soccer season, it kept me from getting sick, almost always!

warning, Ramen doesn't have enough calories for your daily doses of 2000-2,5000 recommended values of calories.

I ate at the dining halls myself. Expensive, but worth the convenience and quality (Cornell has some of the best dining hall food in the country).

I's gonna be livin' off EZ Mac and canned tuna, not Ramen. Ramen begins to suck after that's all you've had for two weeks. I was camp counselor and the camp food sucked so bad that we (all five counselors) went into town and bought about fifty packages of Ramen. We only ate about thirty of them before we couldn't even look at Ramen without feeling under-nourished and sick.

....Ramen is best if you throw away the seasoning packet (or only use a tiny bit), season it yourself, and add veggies..mmm

When I have no one to cook for or cook for me (I don't bother actually going through the process of COOKING if it's not for someone else; I'm pretty low-maintenance food-wise, as long as its healthy/non-red meat/non fried), I pretty much live off the following:
Non fat vanilla frozen yogurt
Baby carrots (very easy...no cutting involved)
Dannon yogurts! Very good and not too expensive either
Salad (Lettuce/Cucumber/Carrot) This one takes a bit of effort tho... cuz you really have to wash everything good and cut it up, and such)
RICE and Broccoli is realllllly easy to make, not expensive at all and totally good for you
CEREAL is the easiest thing ever to make. I swear I could live off a box of Special K for at least a week, if not more.
And of course...Ramen noodles too... but usually I just make pasta if I feel like having pasta, lol.
I HATE pop-tarts... I think I would be sick if I had to live off them everyday, but hey its just me.
Also don't forget guys... the old "favorite", good old peanut better and jelly!

Something i learned... if you drink enough soda (cocacola) the sugar and carbs will carry you over so you end up only needing one meal a day and not feeling that hungry... sure the phosphoric acid eats away at your stomach, you get massive ulcers, and you become a caffeine junky... but you only have to eat one meal a day!

You people are crazy. I could eat three meals a day and still down 6 cans of Mountain Dew after 6:00pm..to keep me awake...siting at a desk for 8 hours in the evenings working on math and science assignments can put you to sleep. At top of that I could go through a box of cereal in two days. I usually eat cereal as a snack like pop corn, rather than breakfast food. But drinking all that pop (everyone else in this country seems to call it soda) definitely had its disadvantages and I've kicked that habit. Now I usually have one can each day. When I had sleep apnea during my freshman year I would drink at least two liters of Mountain Dew and take No Doze on a daily basis. It didn't work. Surgery did.

Usually I have like a plum or an apple in the morning...yogurt or salad for lunch...and chicken with some kindof vegetable for dinner.
With plenty of diet coke/water in between, and gum too.
It takes me forever to finish a box of cereal, even if I eat it everyday. If I eat it for two meals it takes me a week or, rather, one meal and a snack.
Usually tho, thinking about it, I usually only eat it once a day when I'm on a cereal kick, so it takes 2 weeks.

Let's see... I eat eggs or cereal for breakfast. Some unhealthy foods for lunch. Then a dinner which usually isn't too good but I eat some anyway. I don't gain a pound. Damn. I need to gain weight.
