I was just wondering, on a typical week during school, how many times do you find yourself eating at one of the campus dinning facilities?
My college has 3 different meal plans, from a 12, 15 to 19 meals per week. Which ones did you choose, would you choose the same plan again? why or why not?

When I was a freshman, I probably used about 18 or so meals a week... you don't have to worry about running out. There are some weeks when you'll use about ten meals, others when you'll use 21 (if that's an option). However, the food was good... if you're university has lousy food and good take-out (or cooking) options, do that.

A good suggestion is to take the plan with the middle number of meals (somewhere around 14) and, especially if they offer it, the one with a flexible mealpoints plan (like unused meals roll to the next week). There is the chance you won't make all of your meals -- perhaps there's a class too near, or you went out early with friends -- so don't think you're going to need all of them. If in doubt, though, go with the most expensive/biggest one -- it's easier on you and your parents to downgrade rather than upgrade. ;)
