I wish i had idea of what to carry when moving home, unfortunately, i can't even remember what to take out of the fridge when i gotta cook. I guess those cd's aren't a lotta trouble, but don't trust me, better go check it and... what kind of ppl told you to take a projector with you, i don't know, if i was a customs agent, i'd mind letting in such a thing. Good luck.

Well I'm Canadian as well (and also going to McGill Youngdude) so I can tell you for sure that the CD's are fine with customs. Also, I'm not sure where you are in the states, so I'll tell you weather-wise, Canada is not too different than Northeastern USA (depending where you go) ie. Toronto is a little colder with less snow, Halifax is Warmer, but HELLA snow, Ottawa (where I'm from) varies a lot each year, but it's got cold winters with a lot of snow, really hot summers and beautiful fall weather!
As for the clothes...it's no different than the states. We even wear abercrombie...we just have to travel farther to get it. Or be original, whatever. It should be pretty easy to figure out what you need as long as you aren't from Cali or Texas or something. be warned though...bring a tuque cause it does get cold.
Also, buy the toiletries and notebooks and stuff here, it'll be cheaper with the canadian exchange rate and all.
One more caution...don't expect all canadians to be really friendly. The Ontarians and Quebeckers are kind of jerks (from my experience) but we're polite jerks, eh?
As for customs, the projector might be a bit of a problem, but check it out. And don't bring food with you!!! bad call. Anyway, I wouldn't worry about the customs agents...if you're friendly and smile at them you wont have any problem at all

I don't believe R3bell is from USA. It will be very cold for you if you are from South Asia (which I believe you are). I would advise against bringing stationery. It is pretty cheap here. As far as toiletries go, just bring your daily essentials. I have brought CDs from Asia to USA. They were kinda wrapped in my clothes though. And ya, good luck at Waterloo. You finally decided on going there?
