Hey...for all of you going to USC in the fall, why did you pick SC over all the others?

I can certainly tell you I had the worst time. I always was interested in USC but it was way expensive and I didn't want to put that kind of stress on my dad. I accepted SDSU, and then BAM! I got a financial aid package to USC May 5th- four days after they due date to choose a school! I was able to get in, but I have to stay at the Radisson because of my late acceptance and housing application. I am totally psyched to go there though- can you believe we start in a month?

don't worry, I don't attend USC myself; but my friends who are going there next year mostly say it's the girls!

For my son it was film, LA, weather. Something too about getting as far awy from home as he could, although I think he's having some second thoughts about that now.

Hey, I've written about my USC decisions many times to many people. I think people want to know about why I chose USC because for my entire life I've wanted to go to UCLA. And I'm not gonna say anything bad about UCLA, because I still love the school, and it was a perfect match for me for everything except my major. YEP, I chose SC because I got into the Annenberg School of Communications/Journalism. Since I'm an entering frosh majoring in broadcast journalism, I knew I had to go to the school that was actually nationally recognized in the field, and had the facilities that would make my dream a reality (Annenberg TV News and Impact and all that stuff). The school is financially well off, unlike the UC system that suffers from a state wide budget crisis. Anyway...basically, I felt I'd get more attention at USC and that the contacts made would be necessary when pursuing my future career. Internships are definitely a plus. Oh, and I was a Dean's Scholar there, so I guess maybe the prestige was a factor as well.

that's cool you are going to be in Annenberg. I'm registered as pre-business, but I am going to change majors to get into the school so I can go into the advertising field.

I actually planned on attending an Ivy League throughout most of high school (I'm Asian--it was allllll about the Ivy Leagues!); but then I got the opportunity to go to USC straight after my junior year of high school, skipping my senior year. I jumped at the chance mainly because I was going crazy at home. So I went, I loved it, and (to the chagrin of my parents) decided not to transfer afterwards (although I sent in a halfhearted app to Stanford). I'm entering my junior year there.

I chose it because it is far, warm weather, california girls, scholorship, and eh..I remember something about academics too.
