Hey,
I will be attending Kansas State University this fall and then Nottingham Trent University in England, but for the last two years I have been dreaming of going to an Ivy League University. My question is: What options do I still have of being able to attend an Ivy League University, and what should I do at K- State to help my chances of transfering or possible attending graduate school at a Ivy League University?
Cordially, Matt

All I can tell you is to get the best grades possible. While you are dreaming of going to an Ivy League, I am leaving one. I just finished two years at Cornell (engineering). While the classes bored me to death, I loved being on campus. It was a wonderful place. But after screwing up academically, I am leaving Cornell to go to Youngstown State's engineering college. Nowhere near the same level as Cornell, but it will be a lot more simple and comfortable since I can live at home and commute. It may not be Cornell, but with my future career goals (Air Force), an Ivy League degree won't matter. It was just something I wanted to do personally. The problem I had was the exams. One may be able to handle the workload but its the exams that count. So don't screw up. Cornell didn't give me a second chance...so make sure wherever you go, you get it right the first time around.

You will also need good recs from your profs, so be sure to cultivate and develop good relationships with your profs so they can provide you with more than cookie-cutter recs.
