For some of my applications i am applying to special programs located in very bad area such as cuny brooklyn. Do these places still have a good social life? Should i worry about the social atmosphere at colleges or are they all pretty decent? Thanks

Cool222, the social environment varies greatly from college to college. When you visit campuses, be sure to ask students about the social situation. Some campuses have Greek-dominated social life. Some campuses empty out on weekends because many students go home. Some rely on on-campus events. Others (often urban schools) have less on campus because of the surrounding entertainment opportunities. Some schools are party schools, some are less so. It's well worth asking about.
