Are scholarships and financial aid distributed equally to transfer students as regular undergradutes? I know it's early in the year, but transferring is something I am going to leave open. I think I would be happier at some of the other schools I applied to - but are they going to look at the fact that I didn't go there in the first place as something negative and not give me the aid/scholarships I got the first time around? One school said it "keeps my application open" until 2005, but I'm not sure exactly what they mean.
For reference I am at a top 20 university of about 6,000 undergraduates but was primarily interested in midwesteren liberal arts college of ~2,000.
How does this work?

Bump - also, will my National Merit money transfer? I think I better get making some money, fast. Or maybe enough to cover one semester and then get some for Fall 2005?

Surprised no one has answered you. I'm afraid you'll find that most/all financial aid offers will not be available to you as a transfer. Not to say there is no aid for transfer students. If you have need, you would probably be eligible for whatever need-based aid the school can give, might be all loans. Talk to the schools' FA office, they can tell you. Good luck
