If you are counting on financial aid to go to college, it's not a good idea to apply ED. The problem with applying ED is if you get accepted, you have to withdraw your other applications.
Meanwhile, however, the other schools might provide better financial aid offers. Even if your ED school promises to meet 100% of candidates' demonstrated financial need, what the school thinks you need may not be what your parents feel they can pay.
In addition, the school could choose to meet your financial need with a package that's very heavy on loans. A competing school, though, might give you a higher percentage of your financial aid in grants (scholarships) and may even add perks like a laptop or paid summer international travel.
