I received an email from Stanford University "Education Program for Gifted Youth (EPGY)." It's over the summer at Stanford. The email says they got my info from College Board.
Legit? Worth anything on my applications? Worth the money?

Now this I can answer. This is a totally legit program, but not an award. My daughter took Calculus through the online portion of this program when she couldn't fit it in her high school schedule. It's a well regarded, if expensive, enrichment program. It also gives you the opportunity to takes some college classes online for credit. It's really the west-coast version of the Johns Hopkin's talent search. Whether either of these summer program are worth the money depends on whther you've got the money to use. Neither, however, would be an embarrassment on a college app. Stanford gets the name of students who score well on the PSAT.
