I already completed the 2004-2005 FAFSA and just got my SAR. (Yes, I'm a speedy one.)
My mom estimated her 2003 returns. As I was looking through the SAR they said I had to make corrections when my mom finally files her 2003 returns.
Did the information I submit even matter? So will the schools wait to make their package until they have *everything*? What happens?

Colleges will make a financial aid package based on estimated figures. When actual figures are submitted, they will firm up the package.

The information you submit does matter because it holds your place in line for aid.
For freshman year, I think I filled out the PROFILE in November but it was inaccurate at that date, and filled out the FAFSA at least three times. Once when it was due January 1st, again at the end of January when I recieved the W-2's and again to correct a change that the college made when we disagreed where a # went. ( it was my daughter's living stipend for Americorps- it was a little confusing.. but I was right, I just had to get finaid from a nother school to clarify it for them)

Emeraldity , so are you saying that if one applies for the FAFSA online now with estimates ( we may be off $10.00 , $20.00 ) , it will hold our place in line for aid , and we can correct the actual numbers later ??
