My mother and father are married and live in the same house. However, they both file "married, filing separately." Only my mother claims me. My father does not, and the income he earns is insignificant (perhaps $10,000/yr). So my questions are:
1) Do I still have to list his income on #76?
2) When it asks for student's parents' exemptions for 2003, I add together the exemptions that both of them claim?
(In essence, I actually have a single mother. My father contributes in no way. He just happens to be married/still living in my mother's house bec. to get a divorce is too much for my mother to afford.)

your parents are married and live in the same house, even though they have unequal income and file seperate taxes, both sets of forms and w-2s are required.
If the parents are married and they filed or will file separate tax returns for 2002, include both parents' exemptions and income in the questions about: Parents' Adjusted Gross Income, Parents' Income Taxes Paid, Parents' Exemptions, Parents' Earned Income Credit, Father's Income From Work, and Mother's Income From Work, even if they were not married in 2002.
