Hey, this is my first time posting on this forum. I wanted to know if anyone has information about scolarships for international students at the university of michigan. I don't even know if i'am considered international. I have been living in the U.S. for 16yrs. (my whole life).
ANY INFO WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANX...

an international is someone who applys from a country other than the US and gets accpeted, so you're not an international.
to answer your question:
UoM is very stingy on scholarships. i'm planning on going there but i probably would have to pay most of the tuition, try finding private scholarships.

"an international is someone who applys from a country other than the US and gets accpeted, so you're not an international""
As far as i know, thats not true. Dont know about Umich, but most colleges consider soemone interntaional who lives/ or plans to live in the US on a visa. So, basically anybody who desont ahve a green card yet is aslo considered international.

Living here for 16 years and dont have a GC..thats strange
And as for financial aid, technically speaking u should be given some aid since u have been living here for such a long time. BUT, most colleges say we do not give aid to internationals. And they define internationals as anybody on a visa. This way, u r not gonna get any aid.

well as a minor you can't apply for a green card unless your parents do, so if they don't want to it's understandable.
I looked at UMich scholarships too (I live in Japan and my green card expired... I don't think I'll be able to get it renewed) and they don't have anything at all. There's a list of outside/private scholarships, so you may want to try looking through that and see if there's anything you could try for (anything that doesn't specify nationality) but those are usually not just for freshmen and not just UMich, so it could be difficult. Good luck though!

Who wouldnt want to apply for a green card?
And its not that they dont want to but its just that it takes insanely long these days to get a GC
