I'm trying to get a scholarship from them and I'm a semi finalist.

If you have to pay them anything to "advance" in their scholarship "competition," then it's a scam. No legitimate scholarship requires you to pay to apply.

no you don't have to pay but it's strongly encouraged to buy a book with you biography. i think... isn't that right usna? i'm a "semi finalist" as well and as far as i can tell that basically means they got your application and everything that was needed was there. everyone i know who applied is a semi, even those who seriously don't have a chance at getting any $$.

so don't buy their stupid book and you'll be fine. maybe they'll even give you some $$. i hope whether or not you buy the book has no influence in how they judge your app.

I bought a book from one of these places several years ago. They sent the book but used my credit card number to charge over $600. (they apparently had used others this way) It took me a year and a new credit card to correct the situation. Don't be taken in by their scam!
