They put all this security around giving me the PIN number. I felt like I was in a spy movie - "this website will self destruct."

And then I finally get the thing, and it's a FOUR DIGIT NUMBER. I'd estimate a few hours max to try (automatically) every PIN from 0000 to 9999 if you had gathered someone's Social security, last name, and birthdate. There's stuff that can be done to stop that sort of attack but on seeing a 4 number PIN I just don't know if they'd bother implementing it. On top of that, an 8 character password limit.

I really hope no one ever gets it in their mind to try and crack the online FAFSA, it looks to me like it could be torn up something hardcore.

That site is hella painful to my eyes and brain to look at and navigate. It also seems to get off topic a lot more. I really don't care about the masturbation habits of people I don't know.

As far as I can tell, the server is down for applying for a Pin Number. Guess I should have applied at 4:00 am!

I signed my daughter up for FAFSA pin about a week ago, and have heard nothing. I checked their website and it says that the pin was emailed on 12/26, but we haven't gotten it yet. Has anyone else had problems getting a FAFSA pin in the past week or so?

Not receiving the PIN ??? I can't even get to the darned web page. I keep getting 'database maintenence in progress'. (your tax dollars at work) I think I'll just do the paper form, thanks.
