Does anyone know about any kind of international scholarships (for foreign students) in the united states?

It doesn't seem easy to find. The best thing is probably to look for stuff in your own contry, how much your government will pay and loan you. Then look for private scholarshipo-organisation in your country, there usually are some but eligability is usually tough to match, I didn't match any of the ones I found (in Sweden) at last you could check with the American Embassy in your country, but don't expect much, I havn't found any money yet, exept the yearly $2000 my government pays which is less then a tenth of the entire cost.......
Also look for colleges that offer scholarships to international students, at the site collegeboard.com you can register and do a collegesearch where you can enter that among other criteria.
Good Luck!

gidi, i khow it's very hard, but don't be discouraged - we are all in the same boat. Some colleges like Williams and the Ivies are need-blind for international students. I know others who give away up to $10,000 as a merit scholarship (very competitive, of course) I agree with Carro, you should check with your govt, and even big companies (who knows, Bill Gates may be generous one day...)Check carefully with the school before you apply, many of them do not have aid available for int'l students.
New Year best of luck!

Brown isn't need-blind. Don't know about Penn. Yale, Harvard, and Princeton are (I've heard P-ton's very good with finaid too).
And....if you want to know....Duke is need-blind.

Duke Isn't need blind for international admission. Most of these schools claim to be need blind, however if you demonstrate need, you risk not being awarded your F1 visa to study in the States.
I'm going through the smae problem right now. I'm desperately seeking international scholarships, so that I don't come out with $80,000 debt when I graduate!

What are the qualities for an international student to gain scholarships? I've heard that I need to enroll in many activities... Well I am not that out going so I don't join any clubs or groups like that... and I hate sports...
Can strong scores and high class rank substitute extracurricular activies? My talents are playing piano and sketching... Also my strong subject is Biology and won a prize in national competition.
I am studying IB and aiming for 40...

Most scholarships to international student are merit-based, which depend on your achievements - yours are very good. Others are need-based, which mean if you're poor, you'll get some. I would suggest you join some clubs - art club or science club for example. Colleges take extracurricular activities into account when deciding whether to accept you or not - and of course they only give you scholarship when they accept you. Same with sports, but I hope it won't count too much too, for I myself am such a sluggard...

it depends on where you are. If you are in the US and u r not an exchange student, you can get a fee waiver as other US citizens. A list can be found on the Common App. As far as I know, exchange students are not qualified.
