Hi,

I have a question for people who have taken out loans to put themselves through college.

Without a shadow of doubt, I will have to take out loans to finance my education. I was just wondering, do loans such as the stafford loan and private loans cover personal expenses (toothbrush, cloths, shoes, etc.)?

No. I have received Perkins loans and the William Direct loans. I also personally took out a loan from Key Bank with a cosigner. They do not cover personal expenses. The money gets sent straight to the school.
