I've been trying to do research on a couple of companies that offer help to high school kids regarding the financial aid and college prep process and I came across this discussion board. Has anybody had any experience with these companies? I've been to more than one seminar and it seems like a worthwhile service. One company (Edifi) seems to do more for you than the other company and their services are priced reasonably. Just checking for information.

We were REALLY leery of these companies. Having just finished with one senior and one more to go, I am convinced that any literate person can find the necessary information with a library, computer, a few friends who have survived the process and a few bucks at the bookstore. While we probably spent $50-60 on publications, it seemed a drop in the bucket compared to the fees we saw offered from some of these groups. Just my opinion....
