I'm applying ED to a school. If you can't afford the financial package that the school gives you, can you withdraw your acceptance?

Phone the FinAid office and ask them. Work out one of the online finaid calculators before you call.

You lose options when you apply early decision, but one of the "outs" if you will is "if the financial aid package is insufficient" you are not obligated...once you know you are not going to attend, you should out of courtesy notify the school.
