I know I must sound naive, but when do you usually apply for FAFSA and Cal Grants when I want to apply for college during Fall of 2004? Is it too early to start?

In fact, you can't. FAFSA is open to register from January to March 2nd. The earlier you do, the better chance you have of getting more money. When you register for FAFSA, and yourself or in many schools the school itself send your Social Security # with your GPA verification, after about a month, you receive your Cal Grant award.

Thank you! =) All my friends were giving me different answers and I didn't know which one was right! However, most of the big scholarships that give the most amount of money, need FAFSA verification.

Are all Scholarships on FastWeb legit.?
