I didn't get invited by any of the National Who's who of HS students. I feel bad because my dad did 40 years late. Go figure, my GPA and ECs are much more impressive.

Well it isn't really a scam, you get what you pay for I guess, a book with your name in it.
BUt do not put it on your list of accomplishments anywhere on your application because it will make you sound like you are naive and desperate for awards that don't mean anything.
Virtually everyone, even my cat gets an invitation to Who's Who, it is just a device to sucker those proud grandparents ( I would hope parents would be more savvy)

I'm glad I decided to type in a search on "Who's Who Among American High School Students" on the web. I found this site and found out that it is a sort of scam. I almost fell for it too. I really want to get into this private college out here and I was hoping that Who's Who might help. Boy am I glad that I had the wits to spend five minutes looking on the web. I'd look so dumb and probably feel really disappointed too, finding out that it was practically nothing. Geez...I feel like sap but not so much as I would have had the colleges of my choice seen THAT thing there. Whew! What a relief. Maybe I'll join something real -like Phi Theta Kappa.

Oh...FYI...do a search regarding "Who's Who" on this very site and you'll find the same info I read.
