I wish to attend the University of Texas at Austin next fall, but was wondering if I would be able to get any money. I did poorly on the psat so a national merit scholarship is out of the question. My family's calculated EFC is around 26,000. Is there any chance at any financial aid that is not a loan? Will a 3.9+ gpa and 1500+ sat score be able to get me any merit money?

SInce both instate tuition/expenses and out of state tuition/expenses are lower than your EFC of $26,000
You are ineligible for any need based aid.
However each school if not 100% need based has merit scholarships that you may qualify for regardless if youa re national merit or not ( although that would have given you more options)
Also check fastweb.com for a scholarship search
