hahaha.....no they wont. When is it a requirement that parents have to pay for their children's college tuition?
There are no guarentees regarding college education, only up through high school.

The only times when parents are forced to pay for further education is in some states divorce agreements, and in other states if it is added.
I am assumming however that since you only mention one parent that perhaps your parents are divorced?

Some states have passed legislation that allows courts to order postsecondary support, Washington state among them. If the court orders postsecondary support, then the parent is obligated to pay it. The child or paying parent can petition the court for such an order.
