I'm considering both MNT and Harvard for early decision and I can't make up my mind. I have a strong interest in business and a strong (but not as strong) interest in engineering, and the more practical courses at Wharton are very appealing. On the other hand, Harvard is Harvard and Penn is not quite Harvard. What are some differences that should sway my decision 1 way or another?
(Note - my school won't let me apply anywhere else if I get in EA to Harvard)

Your school is not allowed to dictate where you can apply if you are accepted EA to Harvard. EA means that you may still apply elsewhere. Your school has no right to dictate anything else. Are you sure this is the case, or is this hearsay?
As far as choosing goes, it seems like yiou like Penn better, but feel compelled to go for Harvard because it's Harvard. That would be too bad. Have enough confidence in yourself to pick the best school for YOU...they are both great schools....and anyone who wants to split hairs with you over Penn vs. Harvard names needs to get a life.

Thanks for the advice.
Allow me to quote my college advisor:
"If you get into Harvard EA and apply to Penn, I will kill you" (keep in mind that this is a pretty intimidating guy)
My school is a bit nutty, but this is their official policy.
I actually liked Harvard a lot when I was there - it was just missing the practical classes that Wharton has. Other than that, it was an all-around better school (that's what I meant when I said that Harvard is Harvard). Also, Harvard engineering classes are better than Penn Engineering, right?

At harvard you have *complete* cross registration with MIT.

What exactly does that mean and what point are you trying to make (sorry i'm not rude just not understanding that statement)

MNT is a much more prestigious degree than Harvard undergrad if you are not planning on going to graduate school. Also, Penn is more social and friendly, while Harvard is more academic with more child geniuses and world famous grand pooh-bahs. Take your pick.

knightmare, how is it at Penn? Is it up to your expectations?

Do people normally go to graduate school after MNT? What if I am planning on going to graduate school after MNT? Is it better to do Harvard then graduate school or MNT without? Or is it a good option to do MNT then graduate school?

Yeah, Penn is very awesome. The only thing I found surprising is just how large the student body is and what that feels like, but that has its advantages too (i.e. more diversity).
I'm not sure exactly, but my best guess is that after MNT, students work for some time before pursuing a MBA or something. If that's your plan, MNT is the way to go. But if you wanna go to grad school right after college, then either way would be great.
