Discus: Ivy League Schools: Yale University: A year of prep
By Zoso406 (Zoso406) on Monday, October 04, 2004 - 08:13 pm: Edit

Right now im at the US Naval Academy Prep School. As you should know, it is very hard. My first Marking period I got a 2.9 (ranked 134 out of 288.) Everyone here takes Physics, Chemistry, 2 Math classes (in my case intermediate math - alg, trig, calc), and english composition.
I am on the lacrosse team, I was recruited to play here.
My HS SAT's were an 1100 and I only took one SAT 2 - biology, 680.
The whole battalion takes the SAT's again in February and im expecting a huge improvement, however, it will be late for admissions, especially since I am going to apply early action for Yale.
I scheduled my courses in HS for a challenge so it looks good, and my GPA in HS was a 3.4 with a rank of 71 out of 287.

How do you think my chances are for Yale? Realistically, the stats look bad, however I am at NAPS and can go to USNA next year which is one of the best colleges in the nation so I figure this might help me out.
Any insight?

What one thing are you great at? That is what Yale is looking for.Not well rounded but a master at something.Whatever it is write about it and let them know.
