lol, SEAS is the school for engineering and the College is for liberal arts. their areas of concentration is just about the only difference. The students share the same dorms, take the same core classes, and are given the same extracurric opportunities. There's minor distinctions like the SEAS kids don't have to pass the swim test. lol. hope this helps.

Glory is right in just about everything, but one exception: SEAS and CC actually don't share the share Core. It is true that SEAS students must take 4 liberal arts classes in order to graduate, but those 4 do not have to be from the CC core. The only CC core that SEAS MUST take is University Writing.

I was under the impression that SEAS students were required to take -either- Literature or Civilization, and either Art or Music as well?
Whereas CC must take -all- four.
Oh, yeah, then the swimtest. Old legendary explanation,
"In case of disaster or attack on NYC, CC students must swim to flee from Manhattan... the engineers can just build a bridge." Har har.
Actually, isn't it a relic of some WW2 training program at Columbia that required the soldiers to know how to swim?

Lol Glory, you mean now I actually have more than 3 people reading my xanga?
Takius: what you said is correct. Those 3 choices fulfill one of the none-technical requirements for SEAS, but only University Writing is a must-take.
October...that means ED period is coming up quickly. Good luck guys!!
