Hey, I'm applying to Wharton ED. Do I need to send in my first quarter grades? I dont know if ti specifies on the app, i havent gone through it exactly, but im wondering if anyone else knows. And if not, do they require a mid-year report upon acceptance?

i just asked my college advis. about that, she said that our school doesnt bring the quarter grades to the college's attention unless it's positive. but it also depends on the other applicants from your school (can't just send yours, and not theirs...) or, most likely, penn will call your school if they're considering you and ask for the quarter grades to make sure youre doing alright. hope taht helps!

oh ok thanks. the app doesnt seem to ask for the grades directly, so i guess maybe youre right, theyll check up on you if theyre considering you. Eek! im scared, i feel like ive got senioritis, although we dont know what our grades are yet. OH, speaking of which, does anyone know if their grade policy is at least a LITTLE more lax after u get accepted. High School always uses scare tactics of "theyll revoke your app if your grades go down." Is this true? and if so, how much so. I mean, if I'm getting more B's than usual is that like "omg get the fudge out of here, we dont want you"

It's up to your HS. My son's HS says they don't send first quarter grades...period.
I'm sure you need to stay reasonably focused and on track.
Hang in there...almost done!!

thanks, mom! lol ok yeah thanks, ill try to stay as focused as i can, and hopefully they wont ask for my first quarter grades. Not because theyre bad, but because that way i wouldnt have to like kill myself over maintaining the same GPA i had junior year.
hey, i just took the math IIC test. Was it just me, or was it not as hard as u expected? Maybe its cuz i took precalc last year, so when other kids took it in june, they werent as prepared as me, since i had to study for the final and stuff

The assertion that you will have your offer of acceptance withdrawn is all but a myth. I know a kid who, after being accepted to Wharton ED, barely ever showed up to class anymore. If his teachers had wanted to, they could have taken away credit for all of his courses and he wouldn't have graduated. As you can imagine, his grades were anything but stellar or anywhere close to what they were before. He is currently at Wharton. Also, when I visited Yale, the admissions officer was asked a question about senior grades and he said (I guess he was trying to be threatening) that several incoming freshmen (about 10-15) were sent letters by the dean telling them that they better work hard at Yale. Obviously, these were kids who totally slacked off once being accepted. I think that if you don't start failing and the majority of your grades are above a C, you'll have absolutely no problem.
