You have mediocre SAT's. I'd raise them up if I were you.

On a scale of 1-5 (one being the highest), you're an academic three, perhaps a two. Extracurricular-wise, a three. Personality-wise, three (judging from this post, with the essays, maybe a two). That being said, I would say that you have an okay chance at Columbia. I wouldn't be too optimistic about getting in, but you don't have much reason to be too negative either.

You sure have a lot of •••• to do at your school for it being so poor...Ive found its oft the case the less things are available at poorer schools...

More than half of my EC's are self-initiated, not started by the school. The clubs we do have are in disrepair and falling apart, except for a few. We don't have many opporunities.

i think you have a pretty good shot. SATs are a little low, but seeing how u were able to overcome all the barriers imposed by ur school and still managed to achieve so much- I think that's pretty admirable and if you can convey that to Columbia- i think that would definitely boost ur chances.

gluck to you.

Correction- Our school is the worst in our county and maybe the 9-10 worst, city-wise, in our state.
