John Adams, former US President and Harvard alumni, is an ancestor of mine, would that help me get in if my GPA is 3.62?
Also Presidents John Quincy Adams and James Buchanon are ancestors also.

If every man with famous ancestor is admitted at Harvard, America will not exist. Adcom search for intellectuals, not for "Adamses" or "Buchanons".

John Quincy Adams also went to Harvard, but since all three of those guys were unpopular presidents who were turned out of office after only one term, and Buchanan is widely regarded as one of the worst presidents ever, maybe you better look a little harder that family tree to find someone else more worth mentioning.
Admissions legacy boosts in general do not extend much past having your parents be alumi, maybe your grandparents at some schools.
