College Discussion Forums: Ivy League Schools: Harvard University: SO WORRIED!

I am a junior, and I am taking the rigorous courses at my school. I am doing well with all my classes but Honors English 11 and Honors Math Analysis. In fact, I have Bs in them right now, and I have three weeks left before the report card. I am still shooting for As, but I don't think it is possible. If I get Bs, how will they affect my chance in Harvard?

If you want to know, my GPA is 3.97

I don't think you have much a chance at Harvard if you get any B's. 25% of Harvard applicants have 1600 SATS and a perfect GPA. 2 B's or even 1 B will seriously hurt you.

Getting a B won't help, but it won't kill your chances either. My daughter got a B in German her junior year and a B in English her senior year and still got into Harvard. Just don't develop a habit of getting Bs and make sure the rest of your app is very strong.

As I recall you are a URM. That's a positive you bring to the table that should more than offset any negative effect of a B or two.

Dude, I was just kidding on my earlier post. This girl needs to lighten up. It's sad to think that she's so paranoid about getting into Harvard that she's obsessing about getting a B, I mean seriously. This is really sad . . .

so... getting a couple b's fine for harvard if the extracurricular's good right? i just got a b in premed (accidently) and english (my worst subject) but my ec seems decently strong.
