Send in a tape with your app. I had very similar stats/ECs, and I applied RD and was waitlisted... I sent a tape of me playing violin [3 movements of different stuff] because a few people advised me to. Didn't help as far as the waitlist, but you seem pretty established in violin [YS is awesome, even though I tend to favor GBYSO :-P] and it's a great way to differentiate yourself. ED might give you the push you need, which is why I'm kicking myself for not considering ED more closely. But good luck, work on those essays.

Academically you're a three (though the fact that your school is prestigious certainly helps), extracurricular-wise you're a high two, and personality-wise, well, I don't know since the information you've provided is rather limited. Keep in mind though that Brown likes keeps with distinct personalities.

thanks for the post but what does a three or a high two stand for?

Most colleges, including the Ivies, grade students on a 1-5 scale (one being the highest, 5 the lowest) in three areas: academics, extracurriculars, personality. Good luck with your app.

geez why don't you go to harvard then. nobody here cares about prestige. it's funny... a friend of mine here has a friend at harvard who knows every single person's test scores in the entire dorm. nobody gives a crap about that here. brown likes round characters (in the literary sense.) do you think you fit that? it's impossible to tell whether you're fit for brown by making a laundry list of accomplishments/statistics. brown is soo much more than any of that crap. please don't stress anymore about college. it'll work out in the end and you will be accepted to a place in which you fit it and it fits you. good luck and please enjoy your senior year. you'll really regret it if you don't.
