It is known that Harvard has a famous econ program but how does it fare with other colleges like, MIT, U of Chicago, Stanford...?
What's the faculty like and what type of course selections do they have to offer?

No dude, are you crazy? Harvard and Economics? Harvard is purely known for its science and engineering programs, and every kid in the world knows that.

Harvard does, however, have one of the top economic programs. Based on one of their representatives, it is their most popular major.

If you like rankings, you'll be happy to know that Harvard's graduate economics department is ranked #2, tied with Chicago, Princeton, and Stanford, and behind MIT.

I thought that Princeton didn't have a grad. school.

Ort,
Princeton does not have professional schools (business, medicine, law, etc... ), but they do have PhD programs.

Sorry.
I remember them being tied for #1 with Harvard for National Universities with PhD's.

Harvard doesn't have a good econ program? All sciences? Wow, that is hard to digest. I thought econ was one of the strongest faculty areas of Harvard.

Harvard's economics departments is one of its strongest. The President of the University, President Summers, frequently teaches undergraduate economics classes (this year he is teaching one on globalization and its critics). Martin Feldenstein, one of the greatest living conservative economists teaches the introductory course, economics 10.
