I visited Brown this summer, and planning to apply ED for the Brown PLME. Since BS/MD is the only route I am thinking of pursuing, I would like to answer question 17 of Brown Form 1 as “No”. Anybody has any realistic idea (or statistics) of students got accepted after answering the question “No”?
Also, does a PLME candidate has to submit both 3A and 3B Form or only 3B, if he is a candidate for PLME only? The options in 3A Form are Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering and Physics. There is no option for the Biology. What if someone wants to pursue Neuroscience concentration?
My statistics:

I think that if the only reason you're applying to Brown is for PLME, that can be a dangerous situation. Choosing the BS/MD route may seem convenient now, but if you don't really want to be in Providence in the first place, why would you want to be there for eight years? I'm not sure how Brown tends to treat those applicants who check "No", but I've been told that it is very important to them that their PLME students be interested in attending Brown.
That said, as another student applying ED for PLME, I'd have to say your stats are pretty enviable. As far as I understand, if you're not applying for Chemistry, Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics, you'll only have to fill out 3B. Best of luck.

what's question 17?

Q17. (Form 1)
For Early Decision PLME Candidates Only:
If your Early Decision application to the PLME is not successful in December, do you still want to be considered as an applicant to The College under our binding early decision program?
I am sure about attending a medical school but would like to have a broad general education for first 3 or 4 years of my college. I also want to avoid the pressure of medical school application process by going through a BS/MD program. Of all the BS/MD programs I read about, the Brown’s PLME appeals to me the most. After visiting the school, I am even more convince about the PLME.
I have listed the schools that are offering BS/MD in order of my preference. I would love to live in providence for 8 (or more) years if I get accepted into PLME. In my order of preferences, a place comes third, first is the program, and second is the college. After joining Harvard, a friend mine wrote, “It is snowing outside, but inside it is springtime”.
Snapple05, good luck.

Why not check the "Yes" box? You have nothing to lose by agreeing to be considered for regular admissions as well.

no, they're reconsidered under the EARLY DECISION, not regular decision plan. It would be binding.
