I live in a Northeastern suburban town/upper-middle class
My dad is Puerto Rican, my mom is American, so I'm Puerto Rican
SAT: 780M 720V = 1500
SAT II: 790, 740, 720 IIC, Physics, Writing
AP History: 5
GPA: Ranked #2 out of 310 students
I took the hardest coarseload available (my school doesn't offer many APs)
- Math Team 4 years (Captain 2 years)
- Student Council 4 years
- Mock Trial 3 years
- Play Oboe 4 years (in band all of high school, lead oboeist)
- Very interested in economics/investing
+ Bentley summer program in Economics
+ I interned with a state representative for summer (will get nice recommendation from him)
+ Worked on a campaign with a different state representative from a local town
- I have various school awards in different subjects (math every year, 2 spanish, 1 history) including Dartmouth Book Award
- I want to major in business/politics/law or something to that effect . . .
My essays are pretty good: one focuses on my passion for economics/stock market and the other focuses on my work for a campaign and as a summer intern for a state representative
What are my chances? Please be as brutally honest as possible . . . Thanks for any comments

Multicultural Day was great for us. I really had mixed emotions on attending because I don't want my son to self-segregate. But, he made a few connections and had lunch with one of the presenters, who is an alum from his HS. Son is more sure than ever about his choice....so ED, here we come!

Do you live in PA? I heard UPenn is trying to accept a lot more in-state applicants this year. Though I'm clearly not an authority on college admissions, I'd say you're in regardless. I don't see any weaknesses in your application!
I would also just keep in mind that some schools are little bitches about supplemental recommendations, so you might want to call and make sure before you sent the recc from the state representative you interned with.
