I know Penn does housing a little bit differently. How does it work? Do you apply to a specific dorm? Also, which dorms are the best, and where would an athlete stay--is there a specific athletic dorm?

you're given a list of the the building with each of the types of rooms in then (single, double, etc.). Then you rate your top ten rooms (i.e. single in spruce, double in ware, quad in hamilton, etc.). There is really no specific dorm for the athletes, although a lot of football players are in KCEC.

It really does come down to a lottery though.. about 70% of freshman put down to live in the quad, but it can only house 40% of the freshman class.. most others get put in hill or KCEH.. I'm in hill (though I requested the quad) and I absolutely love it.. tip: if you're going ot go for a single, go for hill because while the doubles in the quad are nice sized, a lot of the singles are TINY

i'm 5th NE (Anna E's suite). :) Hill is great! (and was amazing yesterday when it was POURING and we just had to walk downstairs for dinner.. having to go out in that rain for food would *not* have been fun!

Well as luck would have it, me and some suitemates had dinner reservations for restaurant week at Tangerine (2nd and Market) so we braved the elements. Getting a cab wasn't exactly fun, and then we took the subway back and had to walk from 34th and Market back to Hill through the rain and puddles. We came back soaking wet, but dinner made it so worth it.
