Can anyone tell me how hard the engineering students work at Penn and whether they have time to party? How does the workload of engineering students compare to the workload of other Penn students?

HAHA! the whole engineering myth is def not true at penn. Eng students take 5 courses, but then again, so do the business students. The workload is def manageable and some of my friends are engineering students and they still have the time to get out and party with us.

Thanks for your insight to the engineering workload. Anyone else?

I'm an engineer; it's really not that bad. I seem to have a lot more freetime than my SAS and Wharton friends, but I'm also the laziest man on Earth.

Like almost all other majors, your GPA will be inversely proportional to your amount of time partying and goofing off. Never leave your room, and you can probably get 3.8-4.0. Have a good a time as I did, and, uh, ... yeah.

I'm engineering and granted we're only 3 weeks into school, but I do'nt feel the slightest bit overloaded... yeah, I have work to do, but nothing more than the rest of the people in my suite (including my SAS roomate).. the work is just different. Engineers will generally have physics and math problems to do while a college student might have a paper to write. And of course, if you keep on top of your work, it doesn't seem like that much at all!
