Do they get those ppl to see if you're an "honest" face? Or so the interviewer will kinda recognize you? I just don't see why it is needed...

True. Unlike other Ivys, Penn looks to make its student body the most stimulating both aesthetically and intellectually. I mean, would you want a school full of nerds with tape on their glasses? No.
To assess your chances at Penn, I'd suggest put a picture of yourself on Hotornot.com. If you score an 9 or above, you probably have a good shot.

The reason for the picture is to give the application a more personalized feel - to link and relate all your scores, activities, and essays to a human face - so the applicant can be better remembered and envisioned. Columbia does this too.

Eh, there are some ugly people around here that got in, myself included. Although, there does seem to be an unusually large percentage of the student body that is physically attractive, for a school so highly regarded where you might expect more...nerdy types.

Haha, I wonder how much attractiveness really does play...I mean ppl do tend to feel more inclined towards a person that is attractive, so maybe it influences the adcoms subtly...hmmmmmm....
