I'm a HS sophomore. I wish to attend maybe Georgetown, Harvard, Yale, or Stanford. I definitely want to major in political science.
With College admission becoming more competivtive. How does my HS schedule look for this year and the next two.

Freshman Yr. (all were taking on college prep level)
French I
Algebra I
English I
Physical Science
World History I
Theology I
Computer Apps/Health (they were semester courses

Sophomore Yr.
Honors English II
Honors Theology II
Honors Latin I
French II
Biology(regular college prep)
French II
Geometry(regular college prep)

Junior Year
Honors French III
Honors English III
Honors Theology III
Honors Latin II
Honors Chemistry
Algebra II(regular college prep)
AP American History

Senior Year
Honors French IV
Honors Latin III
Honors Physics
Honors Pre-Calculus
Honors Theology III
AP English
elective

My frosh yr. average was a 93.8. I plan on getting involoved with ECs and taking on leadership postition in thoseand Student Gov't.
I'm going to surpass the community service req.
i going to a pretty competive hs. We have send many students 2 HYPS and many LACs. I got a 111 on PSAT Fresh yr. With this New SAT i probably get maybe between a 200-240. I ranked 36 out of like mid 200ish. i want to take Pre-Cal junior yr. but can't due to math-sci agreement. So i can't take Pre-Cal w/chemsitry. It has 2 be taken w physics. and u r not allowed 2 double up on math sci courses at my school. This is the most rigourous plan open. btw school offers only like 4 Aps these were the only was i can take &
i was thinking maybe take some college classes at local CC jr sr year.

From a mere honors perspective, you seem to be doing well, for the most part. You seem heavy on the humanities, but light on the math and sciences- top universities like to see you excel in all academic areas. I would assume that most acceptees (even political science majors) would be at least 1 year advanced in math, if not 2, but you never know- as long as you get all A's, you'll probably be OK.

As far as ECs go, do the things that you like to do, but also try to focus on poly sci. related stuff, like Boys/Girls State (summer after junior year). The good thing is that you're thinking about college now, so that you can plan ahead. Dont wait until ur a junior to get involved.

This is the UPenn discussion board, not the Yale, Georgetown, Stanford, or Harvard discussion board.

Peolpe applying to Harvard take all AP and Honors courses. Your stats look good but the level of your courses looks bad, try to do a study program at one of the ivies next summer.
