Maybe I'm just being paranoid or blind, but shouldn't we have gotten applications for the class of '09 already? I've tried looking online for the application, and I'm sure that I'm on the mailing list; did I miss something?

I want to apply ED, but the lack of application is making me a bit apprehensive. Thanks!

I saw that too, but when I called them in late June (I was out of the country all summer) they said we would probably get them by mid-August. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't the only one without an app! Thanks.

Alright, thanks Ahwosg! Looks like I won't be getting mine until the first day of school (no mail on Sunday, or Monday cause of Labor Day). Anybody know if they'll have an online application this year?

Well, I'll let you guys in on a secret...

My cousin knows some folks over at applyyourself.com and the Brown application is now online. The webmaster at the school has yet to update the page, however.

The online app has character limits on the essays, however, so you might want to consider that when deciding which medium to use.

The essay questions haven't changed from last year's application:

Question #1:
Tell us about the academic areas which interest you most and your reasons for applying to Brown.
(1500 character limit online)

Question #2:
Who interested you in Brown (e.g., college counselor, Brown alumnus/a, admission officer, undergraduate, relative)?
(500 characters)

Question #3:
In reading your application, we want to get to know you as well as we can. We ask that you use this opportunity to tell us something more about yourself that would help us toward a sense of who you are, how you think, and what issues and ideas interest you most.

Your statement should not exceed 500 words or 3500 characters.

Also:
Activities and Awards
Please tell us, roughly in order of their importance to you, those individual activities and awards which you believe best represent your greatest achievements and interests.

Tell us approximately how many hours per week each activity entails.

You may want to consider drawing upon the following areas in compiling your individual list of activities:
Activities and organizations to which you have been a frequent contributor. (Include the year(s) of participation and any offices held.)

Athletic teams on which you have played. (Please note if you won a varsity letter.) You may want to include times, distances, statistics.

Community activities in which you have been involved such as scouting, volunteer work, religious youth groups, cultural organizations, or tutorial programs.

Creative work, hobbies, or special training to which you have devoted substantial time and which you have pursued to the point of reasonable mastery.

Prizes, honors, or special recognition you have won (scholastic, athletic, literary, musical, artistic, or other).

Travel or other experiences that have been expecially rewarding.
