Hi, I'm starting senior year now, and can't decide whether to apply Early Action to Harvard or Georgetown. My expected major: Political Science/Government.

I have a 4.0 unweighted GPA (toughest course load available)
1410 SAT (710V,700M)
33 ACT (34 Eng, 34 Math, 35 Reading, 28 Sci)
800 SAT II Writing
760 Sat II Math IIC
750 SAT II US History

AP US Hist: 5
AP Eng Lang: 4
AP Chem: 4

I'm active in politics and in the community, and am a 4 year member of the band, as well as on the varsity baseball team.

Georgetown is great for internships, but Harvard is Harvard. What do you guys think?

I'd say your SAT is a little low for Harvard. If you could bring it up over 1500, and preferrably over 1550, plus write some killer essays demonstrating your passion for politics or whatever else is your key EC, then you'd have a decent shot. However, for Harvard be aware that "decent shot" really means a lottery ticket, since there are so many applicants with terrific qualifications.

Being that your ACT is 33, which is high, I would just report that and not your SAT.

would you be applying to SFS? in that case, i think one is as good as the other. Since you are interested in Political Science/Government, there are definitely better resources and internship opportunities if you go to Georgetown. Harvard is Harvard, but SFS is the number one school for foreign service. plus i just think SFS is cooler, and the students there are very smart and friendly.
