President and founder of the young writers club, teach chinese at a chinese school, study japanese and cantonese outside of school (my chinese teacher teaches me canto after school and my mom's friend is a japanese teacher who teaches me on saturday), work at William E. Simon and Sons as a Chinese document translator and researcher, translated a chinese children book into english (plan to send that to Cornell as a supplement),Volunteer at the Museum of Natural History in Manhattan as a Mandarin artifact translator, spent 6 weeks in china this summer studying mandarin, dynastic history, tibetan history, tibetan "bohn" religion, buddhism, confuciasm, daoism, chinese medicine theory, Legalism, chinese education system, and chinese pop culture, self studied chinese martial classics, teach hebrew at my hebrew school, awarded the herman greenberg men's club award for most hours volunteered at synagogue, writer, poetry in chinese (plan to send one of them in) Jv tennis for 2 years (no longer able to play due to permanetely damaged shoulder) fantastic recs, a rec from a professor at cornell and an alumni rec, financial coordinator of local amnesty international chapter, co-captain of academic team, forensics club co-founder

I posted up this to teach people that getting into amazing schools like Cornell is because people worked hard to deserve it, not b/c of what they are.

WHat makes this so iron-clad is because any weakness at all is countered and explained, the point of this post was to show that don't count your chickens before they hatched, plus this isn't even my app, I go to Cornell already this is my cousin's app, and believe me and work in the admissions office, these are the apps wanted because his ethnicity shows him to be culturally diverse and a strong candidate, Cornell is the only Ivy League that the only thing more important then ECs is your GPA, so believe me I showed my cuz's app to 4 of my professors and an assistant dean of admission, they all said that as long as he applies ED he is in!
