I'm 95% sure I'm going to apply to Brown ED.
Here are my stats: http://www.prstats.com/2009/display.php?user=iiquidblue
Anyway, the problem is that I've been hearing a lot of complaints about how people get screwed with financial aid when applying ED, and that it's a pretty big problem at Brown due to their relatively low endowment.
I'm pretty poor, my EFC is zero; what I'm worried about is that I'll get a large amount of loans if I'm accepted ED, whereas if I were accepted RD I'd get mostly grants. Either way Brown meets "100% of demonstrated need," but I don't want to come out of my undergrad years more than $20,000 in debt. I could apply ED to any other school and probably get a good amount of grants (i.e. Princeton's no-loan policy for FA), but I love Brown. I just don't want to get screwed. Was anyone here who applied ED to Brown in the same boat as I am? What happened?
You might as well rate my chances while you're at it. Mmm, cliche!

Hate to say this, but Brown doesn't have the best reputation for financial aid. If aid is really important, you might want to go RD. Keep in mind Brown has a program where no freshmen do work-study, and receive that part of their aid as a grant.

Go to finaid.com and run the institutional methodology formula for a *ROUGH* estimate of the parental contribution....It's just a baseline but it's better than nothing.
I will note that Brown did make the 'Great Schools, Great Prices' list in this year's USNews at #15.
I would try to call the finaid office [not email] and see if they can give you any rough figures to go on.
