do a lot of cornell students have cars? is bringing a car with you to cornell an advantage or a pain in the a$s..with parking and everything??

i thought it was an advantage, being that i didnt have one. It is generally a luxury so that you can go to the movies or to a restaurant or the mall on the weekend. it could be a pain in the winter if you have to shovel it yourself, but most girls i know would have a guy help shovel it and the guy was usually happy to get off campus for whatever diversion. so if you think youll be going home or getting off campus its helpful, if not your better off saving the cash

It seems really really expensive to park ($600 a year! Craziness...), so I had pretty much decided not to bring mine. Unless there's cheaper parking? I wouldn't really plan on taking it to class or anything; I just want to use it for trips and stuff.

I live in North Carolina so I am bringing my car to transport between Cornell and my home. Yes, the parking is expensive but even the default option gets you parking right next to the dorms and other useful areas around the campus. Cornell has its own transportation website so I would check it out (just google it).
